Judith Williamson


Judith Williamson is a freelance writer, living in London. She is the author of Decoding Advertisements: Ideology and Meaning in Advertising; Consuming Passions: The Dynamics of Popular Culture and Deadline at Dawn: Film Criticism 1980-1990 (all Marion Boyars, London, 1978, 1986 and 1993 respectively).

From 1992 to 1998 she was Professor of Cultural History at Middlesex University. She writes regularly on cultural and political issues for the national press, currently as a commentator for The Guardian.
